Giovannina and Bruno, husband and wife for over fifty years, were born in 1939. They have been working the land and raising vines since they were children. Being a farmer is for them not just a job, but a lifestyle that marks the times of their existence. Through their testimony, it is clear that grapes have always represented the main element around which the community and economic life of the territory revolve, also marking structural changes. Giovannina is the keeper of the sacred songs and the key voice of the Seven-Year Rites in honor of the Madonna dell’Assunta of Guardia Sanframondi. Bruno is very devoted and involved in the Rites. Both remember how before the birth of the La Guardiense social winery, all the Guardian families donated homemade wine that would be used during the Rituals.
