In the Sannio, everyone agrees that an engineer of Neapolitan origins who decided to move to his property in Sant’Agata de’ Goti began the development of viticulture in the area and the exponentially successful growth of Falanghina. His name was Leonardo Mustilli. Born in 1929, Annachiara and Paola’s father decided to give life – at least according to the mythology collected during the investigation – in the 70s to the first bottle of Falanghina in purity. That choice gave a vital impulse to Samnite viticulture, making it clear to the producers that they were not only sellers of grapes but had in their hands a treasure to protect and in which to invest.
