Nicola Matarazzo, economist, is the director of the Consorzio Tutela Vini Sannio. Nicola was one of the protagonists of Falanghina Felix’s year, which led Benevento and its province to become the capital of the Wine Cities in 2019/2020. In this interview, the history of the cultivation of the Falanghina vine in the Sannio is retraced in the last forty years, since the engineer Mustilli vinified the first bottle of Falanghina in purity starting from a branch found in Bonea and one of the Vesuvius area up to the explosion of the market which led to a substantial modification of the wine-growing landscape of the Sannio area in the district of Benevento.
