Ernest Pignon Ernest was born in Nice and he lived in this city for a long time. He arrived in Naples in the 80’s and he was known for his posters representing Christs, Madonnas, and Saints – inspired by the paintings of Caravaggio, Mattia Preti, Massimo Stanzione and Luca Giordano – posted at night on the walls of the old town buildings, in the streets, in the beating heart of the urban city. Like few others he forged an epidermal relationship with the city, seeking its baroque spirit .Although his works were ephemeral, he left a memorable mark among the Neapolitans. Perhaps because Pignon has been able to express himself through the “the rhetoric of the marvellous” that in Naples, more than anywhere else, has founded its communication. He loved the local cuisine: the ciurilli, zucchini flowers stuffed with ricotta are for him his madeleine .
Yvette Ollier, his life companion and artistic adventurer, born in Saint Etienne, was a theater actress and is the author of documentaries and TV series on cuisine such as D’ après nature , the history of fruits and vegetables and Des Goûts et des Couleurs which collects 15 traditional recipes from different parts of the world.
