Gabriella Mazziotti tells about her food memories connected to the small municipality of Galdo, in Cilento, where she was born and spent her childhood. She came back there as an adult in order to take care of her farm, “Al Sentiero”. Among her memories there are the breakfast of former times – with goat’s milk and toasted bread – and the “montanare”, the fried pizza with tomatoes and cheese. Her grandmother cooked them for all the nephews during Christmas holidays in a huge, blackened pan. We see her kneading her famous “cavatelli” and we learn the secrets of Cilentan sauce made with the “egg chops”. For Gabriella the Mediterranean diet is first of all “eating according to the natural rhythms of agriculture”.
