Luigi Di Lauro was born in Cava dei Tirreni on April 28, 1961.

He is a former boxer who arrived “for fun and for love” in Acciaroli, where he met his wife with whom he set up a small sandwich shop which, slowly, was transformed into the “Mediterraneo” restaurant, whose name is dedicated to the values of the Mediterranean Diet on which his cuisine is based. Luigi loves Cilento and its products, which he skillfully combines into his cuisine using ancient preparation techniques. One of the culinary inventions that he cares most about is pasta and chickpeas with octopus, which unites the land and sea of Cilento.
