The company founded in the 80s directly by Michele Ferrante, is located in Controne, a small town in the Cilento National Park, today called “bean territory”.

The types planted by local farmers are still varied today, but the type that made Controne famous and that has adapted over the centuries is Michele’s bean, recognized as a Slow Food presidium.

A small bean with very white seeds, rounded and slightly ovoid in shape, without spots or eyes. Michele’s main objective is the recovery of ancient varieties of native crops that are now almost extinct through cultivation, transformation and conservation techniques of the past, a true philosophy, born from love for the land, for peasant tradition and for good food.
