Francesca Randò was born in Mammola on 04 November 1978. She decided to study tourism, as it was her passion, and she graduated as a tourism expert. She met her husband Cosimo and they decided to open a small restaurant in their town in Mammola. They decided to follow the tradition of the town and they created their restaurant on Mammola stockfish. Stockfish became important after the 1908 earthquake in Reggio Calabria and Messina, as the Norwegians coming from Lofoten Island came to aid the Mammola’s people by giving them stockfish to eat. To date, Mammola’s stockfish is a PAT (Traditional agri-food product) of the Calabria region.
